Between the hot sun, dryer air & increased activity outdoors often accompanied by summertime, it’s essential to take extra measure to protect, hydrate and nourish your skin… unless of course you’re cool with early wrinkles, sagging and dullness (but that would be downright silly!)

 

 

So what’s my secret for maintaining a radiant complexion and youthful glow?

 

 

It starts from within, where true beauty is created.

 

 

Here’s the deal.

 

 

Your skin cells regenerate every 30-60 days depending on your age, which means you have the potential to re-build dull, lackluster skin and turn it into a supple masterpiece.

 

 

But this will ONLY happen if your skin cells get the nutrients they need to do so.

 

 

Consuming the RIGHT nutrition is key to providing your body with the necessary building blocks to regenerate healthy skin and keep you glowing all summer long!

One of my favorite ways is with a refreshing beverage that is filled with hydrating fruit.

 

 

This recipe features watermelon and strawberries, both of which are also loaded with antioxidants that help to protect the skin from sun damage and reduce the look of “older” skin by reducing advanced glycation end products (AGE’s). You can remember that because AGE’s will literally “age” you as they degrade collagen that otherwise helps to keep your skin looking supple and youthful.

 

 

But, you don’t have to worry about the terminology. Just know that this recipe packs a powerful punch of both antioxidants and moisture that healthy skin needs to repair, regenerate and thrive.

Summertime Watermelon Lime Skin Refresher

 

2 cups frozen strawberries

2 cups seedless watermelon

1 whole lime, zested THEN juiced

5 mint leaves

1/8 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt

 

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Drink immediately or store in glass mason jars for a grab-and-go treat. Serve with a handful of nuts or seeds for a well-rounded snack or pastured eggs for an easy breakfast. Enjoy!
